Gillaspie Traded to Angels

July 24, 2015

Infielder Conor Gillaspie has been traded to the Los Angeles Angels. The White Sox will get cash considerations in exchange for Gillaspie.

Gillaspie, who made his first start in the major leagues in 2008 with the San Francisco Giants, was traded to the White Sox in 2013. He was a regular part of Chicago's lineup in 2013 and 2014.

This year, Gillaspie has not gotten off to a good start, batting just .237 in 58 games. So far, he has had 41 hits and 11 doubles, with an on-base percentage of .276. His defensive play hasn't been better, with 12 errors and a .890 fielding percentage at third base in 52 games.
