The New York Mets find themselves on the top of the NL East thanks in large part to two of their players. Both first baseman Lucas Duda and pitcher Noah Syndergaard have been named the National League Player of the Week. Uribe and Johnson Go to Mets

The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves have agreed to a deal that sends infielder Juan Uribe and utility player Kelly Johnson to the Mets in exchange for minor league pitching prospects John Gant and Rob Whalen. With an outstanding young starting rotation led by Matt Harvey and Jacob DeGrom, the Mets can afford to lose two pitching prospects in order to gain some offensive power. The Mets are currently in second place in the NL East division due to their pitching prowess but their offense has been weak. Uribe and Johnson might give them the hitting they need to take the lead from the Washington Nationals. [read more ...]
