Casey Fien, relief pitcher, was first drafted in 2006 by the Detroit Tigers. He pitched in the Tigers' minor league system from 2006 through 2008. He pitched 11.1 innings in 9 games with the Tigers in 2009. He also pitched 58.0 innings in 42 games in the minors.

The Boston Red Sox claimed Fien off waivers on March 1, 2010. Three days later, he was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was released on March 18th and two days later, he signed with the Tigers. He spent most of the 2010 season in the minors, pitching just 2.2 innings in 2 games with the Tigers.

Fien became a free agent on October 6, 2010. A month later, on November 5th, he signed a minor league contract with the Houston Astros. He was released on August 2, 2011. He spent the 2011 season in the minors.

Fien signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins on January 3, 2012. He finally made it to the majors that year, pitching in 35 games with the Twins. He finished the season with 2 wins and 1 loss, 32 strikeouts to 9 walks, and a career low ERA of 2.06. He also pitched in 33 games in the minors.

Fien had his first full season in the majors in 2013. He had career highs in games played (73) and strikeouts (73 to just 12 walks). He finished with a 3.92 ERA in 62.0 innings. The following season, he again pitched in 73 games and he had a 3.98 ERA in a career high 63.1 innings. His numbers for 2015 were similar, with a 3.55 ERA in 63.1 innings in 62 games.

The Twins designated Fien for assignment on May 5, 2016. He was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 7th. He spent time on the DL with elbow issues in 2016, finishing the season with 1 win and 1 loss, 35 strikeouts to 10 walks, and a 5.49 ERA in 14 games with the Twins and 25 games with the Dodgers. He didn't pitch in the postseason.

Fien became a free agent on October 5, 2016. He signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Mariners on December 3, 2016. He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies on May 9, 2017. The Phillies released him on September 1, 2017. He spent much of the 2017 season in the minors, pitching in just 6 games with the Mariners and 4 games with the Phillies.

Fien hasn't played professional baseball since 2017.
