Cesar Valdez, pitcher, was first signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks in May, 2005. He was a starting pitcher in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2006 through 2009.

Valdez pitched in nine games as a starting pitcher and two games as a reliever with the Diamondbacks in 2010. He finished the season with 1 win and 2 losses, 13 strikeouts to 10 walks, and a 2.29 ERA in 20.0 innings. He also pitched 97.2 innings in 20 games in the minors.

The Diamondbacks traded Valdez to the Pittsburgh Pirates on December 9, 2010, as completion for a trade made on November 24th. He was traded again on July 5, 2011, this time to the Miami Marlins. After less than a month with the Marlins, he was traded on July 28th to the Toronto Blue Jays. He lasted only two days with the Blue Jays before they released him on July 30th. He spent the first half of the 2011 season as a relief pitcher in the minor leagues.

Valdez pitched in the Mexican League in 2012, 2013, and 2015. He didn't play in the major or minor leagues in 2014.

Valdez signed with the Houston Astros on January 1, 2016. He spent the 2016 season in the minors, pitching as both a starter and a reliever.

Valdez became a free agent on November 7, 2016. Ten days later, he signed a minor league contract with the Oakland Athletics. He was designated for assignment on May 3, 2017, and two days later, claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays. He spent much of the 2017 season in the minors. He had a 7.63 ERA in 4 games with the Athletics and 7 games with the Blue Jays.

Valdez elected free agency on November 2, 2017. He played in the Mexican League in 2018 and 2019.

Valdez signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles on January 10, 2020. He pitched in 9 games in 2020, and he had a 1.26 ERA in 14.1 innings.

Valdez spent time on the IL in 2021 with back strain. He finished the season with 2 wins and 2 losses, 8 saves, 45 strikeouts to 14 walks, and a 5.87 ERA in 46.0 innings in 39 games. After the season ended, he played in the Dominican Winter League.

Valdez became a free agent on October 4, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels on March 16, 2022.
