Updated for Safari 4

Did you know that you can email web pages or web page links directly from Apple's Safari browser? It's very easy to do with Safari and the Mac OS X email application, Mail.

Find a web page you want to share and access the File menu in Safari. Next, select one of the two emailing options on the menu:

  • Mail Contents of This Page - You can email the complete contents of a web page, including embedded graphics. Note that the ability to view the emailed page will be dependent on the capabilities and settings of the recipient's email program.
  • Mail Link to This Page - You might prefer to email just the hyperlink (URL) for the web page instead of the actual web page content. If you do, select this option.

You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Command-I or Command-Shift-I to email the contents or URL of a web page.

After you select an option, Mail will open with a composing message ready for you. The body of the message will contain either the contents of the web page or the link to the page and all you need to do is add the recipient's email address and then send the message. I use this feature to email web pages to myself so they will be stored in Mail's database for easy accessing whenever I need them.
