Aaron Hill, retired infielder, was first drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003. After two seasons in the minor leagues, he made his first appearance with the Blue Jays in May, 2005, playing in 105 games with the team that year. The following year, Hill played in 155 games with 159 hits, 28 doubles, and a batting average of .291.
In April 2008, the Blue Jays gave Hill a four-year, $12 million contract. Unfortunately for both Hill and the team, he suffered a concussion that season and played in just 55 games with the Blue Jays. However, the following season was his best one with career highs in hits (195), home runs (36), and RBIs (108) in 158 games. In 2009, Hill won his first Silver Slugger award and he was named the American League Comeback Player of the Year.
The Blue Jays traded Hill to the Arizona Diamondbacks in August, 2011. After the season ended, the Diamondbacks and Hill agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract extension. In 2012, Hill won his second Silver Slugger award. That season, he hit for the cycle twice, becoming the fourth player in MLB history to hit for the cycle twice in one season.
In 2013, Hill batted .291 with 95 hits and 21 doubles in 87 games. He finished the 2014 season with 122 hits, 26 doubles, 60 RBIs, and a .244 batting average in 133 games.
Hill played in 116 games with the Diamondbacks in 2015. He finished the season with 72 hits, 18 doubles, 39 RBIs, and a .230 batting average. Defensively, he played 47 games at second base and 38 games at third base.
Hill was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on January 30, 2016. After half a season with the Brewers, he was traded to the Red Sox on July 7, 2016. He finished the season with 99 hits, 14 doubles, 38 RBIs, and a .262 batting average in 78 games with the Brewers and 47 games with the Red Sox. He had just one at-bat in one game in the postseason and he struck out. Defensively, during the regular season, he played 24 games at second base and 103 games at third base. He made 204 assists, 90 putouts, and 5 errors.
Hill became a free agent on November 3, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants on February 17, 2017. He was designated for assignment by the Giants on June 24, 2017, and released on June 29th. He played in just 34 games in the major leagues in 2017.
