Alberto Callaspo, infielder, was first signed by the Los Angeles Angels in 2001. After four years in the Angels minor league system, they traded him to the Arizona Diamondbacks in February, 2006. He spent most of the next two seasons in the minor leagues, playing in 23 games with the Diamondbacks in 2006 and in 56 games in 2007.

In December, 2007, the Diamondbacks traded Callaspo to the Kansas City Royals. He played in 74 games with the Royals in 2008. The following year was his best one with a .300 batting average and career highs in hits (173), doubles (41), and RBIs (73).

After 88 games with the Royals in 2010, Callaspo returned to the Angels in a trade with the Royals. The following season, he batted .288 with 137 hits in 141 games. From 2010 through 2012, Callaspo was a third baseman for the Angels.

In January, 2012, Callaspo signed a one-year, $3.15 million contract with the Angels. A year later, in February, 2013, he signed a new two-year, $8.97 million contract but he didn't stay long with the Angels after that signing. In July, 2013, they traded him to the Oakland Athletics. In 2013, he batted .258 with 117 hits in 136 games (86 games with the Angels, 50 games with the Athletics). He finished the 2014 season with 90 hits, 15 doubles, and a .223 batting average in 127 games.

Callaspo signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Atlanta Braves on December 9, 2014. He was traded to the Dodgers on May 27, 2015 for Juan Uribe. He finished the 2015 season with 54 hits and a .235 batting average in 37 games with the Braves and 60 games with the Dodgers. As a third baseman in 65 games, he made 92 assists, 26 putouts, and 5 errors. He was released by the Dodgers on August 27th.

Callaspo didn't play in the major or minor leagues in 2016. He played in the Mexican League in 2017 and 2018. He played in the Caribbean series in 2019. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Callaspo played in the independent Atlantic League in 2021. He also played in the Venezuelan Winter League.
