Andrew Cashner, starting pitcher, was first drafted in 2008 by the Chicago Cubs. He pitched in the Cubs' minor league system in 2008 and 2009.

In 2010, Cashner joined the Cubs as a relief pitcher, playing in 53 games and finishing the season with a 2-6 record and a 4.80 ERA. He spent most of the following season on the DL, pitching in one game with the Cubs as a starting pitcher and in six games as a reliever.

The Cubs traded Cashner to the San Diego Padres in January, 2012. He pitched in 27 games as a relief pitcher and in 6 games as a starting pitcher with the Padres in 2012. He finished the season with a 3-4 record and a 4.27 ERA.

In 2013, his first full season as a starting pitcher, Cashner pitched 175.0 innings in 31 games. He finished the season with a 10-9 record and a 3.09 ERA. He pitched 123.1 innings in 19 games in 2014 and he finished with a 5-7 record, 93 strikeouts to 29 walks, and a 2.55 ERA.

Cashner pitched in 31 games with the Padres in 2015. He finished the season with a 6-16 record, 165 strikeouts to 66 walks, and a 4.34 ERA in 184.2 innings.

Cashner was traded to the Miami Marlins on July 29, 2016. He finished the season with 5 wins to 11 losses, 112 strikeouts to 60 walks, and a 5.25 ERA in 16 games with the Padres and 12 games with the Marlins.

Cashner signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Texas Rangers on November 18, 2016. He pitched in 28 games in 2017 and he had a 3.40 ERA. He finished with 11 wins and 11 losses and 86 strikeouts to 64 walks in 166.2 innings.

Cashner elected free agency on November 2, 2017. He signed with the Baltimore Orioles on February 15, 2018. He finished the 2018 season with 4 wins and 15 losses, 99 strikeouts to 65 walks, and a 5.29 ERA in 153.0 innings in 28 games.

The Orioles traded Cashner to the Boston Red Sox on July 13, 2019. He finished the 2019 season with 11 wins and 8 losses, 108 strikeouts to 58 walks, and a 4.68 ERA in 150.0 innings in 17 games with the Orioles and 25 games with the Red Sox.

Cashner became a free agent on October 31, 2019. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
