Charlie Culberson, infielder for the Atlanta Braves, was originally drafted in 2007 by the San Francisco Giants. He started his professional career in the Giants' minor league system, the same system that his father played in for five years. He played in the minors for the Giants from 2007 until they traded him to the Colorado Rockies in July 2012.

Culberson joined the Rockies for 47 games in 2013. Defensively, he played primarily in left field. In 2014, however, he was a utility infielder for the Rockies, playing at times at each of the four infield positions. He finished the 2014 season with 41 hits and a .195 batting average in 95 games.

Culberson played in just five games in the minors in 2015. He also played in 22 games in the Dominican Winter League.

Culberson signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on November 19, 2015. He spent most of the 2016 season in the minors, playing in just 34 games with the Dodgers.

Culberson spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, joining the Dodgers for only 15 games in the regular season. He played almost as many games with the team in the postseason and he made his mark in those games. He had 8 hits and 2 RBIs in 16 at-bats in 10 games. He hit the winning walk off home run for the Dodgers in the eleventh inning of Game 2 of the World Series.

The Dodgers traded Culberson to the Braves on December 16, 2017. He finished the 2018 season with 80 hits, 18 doubles, 45 RBIs, 85 strikeouts to 21 walks, and a .270 batting average in 113 games. Defensively, he played at all infield and outfield positions except for center field. He also pitched in one game. In the postseason, he had 2 hits in 12 at-bats in 4 games. He struck out once and walked 4 times.

Culberson spent time on the DL in 2019 with a fractured cheekbone. He finished the season with 35 hits and a .259 batting average in 108 games. Defensively, he played 10 games at first base, 1 game at third base, 7 games at shortstop, 35 games in left field, and 11 games in right field. He also pitched in 2 games. He didn't play in the postseason.

Culberson became a free agent on December 2, 2019. He rejoined the Braves on a minor league contract on December 13th. He played in just nine games in 2020. In the postseason, he had 2 hits in 3 at-bats in 3 games.

Culberson elected free agency on October 30, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on December 28th. He played in 90 games in 2021, and he had 60 hits, 15 doubles, 64 strikeouts to 17 walks, and a .243 batting average. Defensively, he played at all infield positions and in right field and left field.

Culberson became a free agent on November 6, 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on February 9, 2023, and he was released on March 24th. He returned to the Braves on a minor league contract on March 28th.
