Chris Denorfia, retired outfielder, was first drafted in 2002 by the Cincinnati Reds. He played in the Reds' minor league system from 2002 through most of 2006, playing in just 18 games with the Reds in 2005 and in 49 games in 2006.

The Reds traded Denorfia to the Oakland Athletics in April, 2007, but he had Tommy John surgery that season and he didn't play at all in 2007. The following season, he had back problems that limited his playing time with the Athletics to just 29 games. He spent the 2009 season back in the minor leagues, playing in just 4 games with the Athletics.

In December, 2009, Denorfia signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres. In 2010, he played in 99 games with the Padres, batting .271 with 77 hits. That season, he played defensively at all three outfield positions.

Denorfia signed a one-year contract with the Padres in December, 2010. The following season, he batted .277 with 85 hits in 111 games. Defensively, he again played at all three outfield positions.

Denorfia signed another one-year contract with the Padres in December, 2011. Less than a year later, in September, 2012, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Padres. In 2013, he batted .279 with 132 hits and 21 doubles in 144 games.

On July 31, 2014, Denorfia was traded to the Seattle Mariners. He finished the 2014 season with 76 hits and a .230 batting average in 89 games with the Padres and 32 games with the Mariners.

In January, 2014, Denorfia signed a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Chicago Cubs. He finished the 2015 season with 57 hits and a .269 batting average in 103 games. Defensively, he played 43 games in left field, 6 games in center field, and 28 games in right field. He had no hits in seven postseason games.

Denorfia signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees on March 2, 2016. He opted out of the contract and was released on March 27th. He signed with the San Francisco Giants on June 9th but they released him on August 15th. He played in 42 games in the Giants' minor league system before they released him.

Denorfia signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies on January 13, 2017. He was released on June 1, 2017, after playing just 20 games in the minors.

Denorfia retired on March 9, 2018. He was a coach for the Chicago Cubs in 2019. He will manage a team in the minor leagues in 2020.
