Collin Cowgill, retired outfielder, was first drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2008. He played in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2008 through most of 2011, joining the Diamondbacks for 36 games in 2011.

The Diamondbacks traded Cowgill to the Oakland Athletics in December, 2011. He played in just 38 games with the Athletics in 2012. The following December, he was traded to the New York Mets.

Cowgill hit a grand slam on opening day in 2013 but 22 games later, the Mets traded him to the Los Angeles Angels. He batted .211 with 32 hits in 23 games with the Mets and 50 games with the Angels in 2013. On June 10, 2014, he hit his first walk-off home run against the Oakland Athletics. He finished the 2014 season with 65 hits and a .250 batting average in 106 games.

Cowgill was a backup outfielder for the Angels in 2015. He played in just 55 games with them and he had 13 hits and a .188 batting average. Defensively, he played 41 games in left field and he made 36 putouts and no errors. He also played in 14 games in the minor leagues.

Cowgill was traded to the Cleveland Indians on December 2, 2015. He spent most of the 2016 season in the minor leagues, playing in just nine games with the Indians.

Cowgill became a free agent on October 5, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres on February 6, 2017. He was released on August 6, 2017. He played in the minors only in 2017.

Cowgill signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on February 9, 2018. He played only in the minors in 2018.

Cowgill became a free agent on November 2, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on March 12, 2019. He spent the 2019 season in the minors.

Cowgill became a free agent again on November 4, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on February 11, 2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Cowgill retired on October 30, 2020.
