Craig Gentry, retired center fielder, was first drafted in 2006 by the Texas Rangers. He played in the Rangers' minor league system from 2006 through most of 2011, joining the Rangers for 11 games in 2009, 20 games in 2010, and 64 games in 2011.

Gentry played in 122 games with the Rangers in 2012. He finished the season with 73 hits, 13 stolen bases, and a .304 batting average. In 2013, he batted .280 with 69 hits and 24 stolen bases in 106 games.

In December, 2013, the Rangers traded Gentry to the Oakland Athletics. He finished the 2014 season with 59 hits, 20 stolen bases, and a .254 batting average in 94 games.

Gentry spent most of the 2015 season in the minor leagues, playing in just 26 games with the Athletics. He played in 101 games in the minors and he had 102 hits and a .256 batting average.

Gentry signed a contract with the Los Angeles Angels on December 9, 2015. He was designated for assignment by the Angels on July 30, 2016 after playing in 14 games with them.

Gentry signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles on February 20, 2017. He played in 77 games in 2017 and he finished the season with a .257 batting average. Defensively, he played 30 games in left field, 9 games in center field, and 31 games in right field.

Gentry became a free agent on November 2, 2017. He signed with the Orioles on February 19, 2018. He was released on September 3, 2018. He played in 68 games in 2018, and he had a .269 batting average. He spent time on the DL with a left rib fracture.

Gentry signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants on February 14, 2019. He was released on March 25th. He signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies on April 11th. He was released on May 2nd, after playing only in the minors.

Gentry retired in May, 2019.
