Desmond Jennings, center fielder, was originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2005 but he only played in their minor league system. A year later, he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays. He then continued to play in the minor leagues through most of 2011, playing with the Rays in just 17 games in 2010 and in 63 games in 2011.
In 2012, his first full season in the major leagues, Jennings batted .246 with 31 stolen bases in 132 games. In 2013, he batted .252 with 133 hits, 31 doubles, 14 home runs, 54 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases in 139 games. He finished the 2014 season with 117 hits, 30 doubles, 15 stolen bases, and a .244 batting average.
Jennings suffered from knee bursitis in 2015 and he spent most of the season on the DL. He played in just 28 games with the Rays.
Jennings again spent time on the DL with knee bursitis in 2016. The Rays released him on August 26, 2016. He finished the season with 40 hits and a .200 batting average in 65 games. Defensively, he played 33 games in left field and 30 games in center field.
Jennings signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds on February 9, 2017. After not making the Reds' roster, he signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets on April 6th. After 55 games in the minors, he was released on June 16th.
Jennings played in the Mexican League in 2018. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
