Devin Mesoraco, catcher, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2007. He played in the Reds' minor league system from 2007 through most of 2012, ending with a .268 batting average. He joined the Reds for 18 games in 2011. The following year, he suffered from a concussion and he played in just 54 games with the Reds.

In 2013, Mesoraco batted .238 with 77 hits and 13 doubles in 103 games with the Reds. As a catcher in 97 games, he made 55 assists, 668 putouts, and 5 errors with a .993 fielding percentage. He finished the 2014 season with 105 hits, 25 doubles, 25 home runs, 80 RBIs, and a .273 batting average in 114 games.

Mesoraco signed a four-year, $28 million contract extension with the Reds on January 26, 2015. On June 20th, he had hip surgery that ended the season for him. He played in just 23 games with the Reds in 2015.

Mesoraco spent most of the 2016 season back on the DL, this time with a shoulder injury that ended in surgery. He played in just 16 games with the Reds.

Mesoraco again spent time on the DL in 2017, limiting his playing time to 56 games. He batted just .213 with 30 hits.

The Reds traded Mesoraco to the Mets on May 8, 2018. He finished the 2018 season with 54 hits and a .221 batting average in 18 games with the Reds and 66 games with the Mets. As a catcher in 67 games, he made 24 assists, 552 putouts, and 1 error. He caught players trying to steal 21.3% of the time and he had a .998 fielding percentage.

Mesoraco became a free agent on October 29, 2018. He signed a new minor league contract with the New York Mets on February 7, 2019. However, he didn't play baseball in 2019.

Mesoraco was hired as a volunteer coach for the University of Pittsburgh on July 10, 2020.
