Eduardo Escobar, infielder for the Los Angeles Angels, started his professional baseball career in the Chicago White Sox minor league system in 2006. He played in the minor leagues through part of 2013, finishing his minor league career with 664 hits, 94 doubles, 34 triples, 248 RBIs, 84 stolen bases, and a .269 batting average in 657 games. He was first called up to the White Sox in 2011 for nine games.

After 36 games with the White Sox in 2012, they traded Escobar to the Minnesota Twins. He then played in 14 games with the Twins, finishing the season with a .214 batting average. In 2013, he had 39 hits and a .236 batting average in 66 games. He finished the 2014 season with 119 hits, 35 doubles, and a .275 batting average in 133 games.

Escobar finished the 2015 season with 107 hits, 31 doubles, 58 RBIs, and a .262 batting average in 127 games. Defensively, he played 11 games at second base, 5 games at third base, and 71 games at shortstop.

In 2016, Escobar batted .236 in 105 games with the Twins. He finished the season with 83 hits, 14 doubles, and 37 RBIs. Defensively, as the Twins' shortstop in 71 games, he made 200 assists, 62 double plays, 87 putouts, and 9 errors.

Escobar batted .254 in 129 games with the Twins in 2017. He finished the season with 116 hits, 16 doubles, career highs in home runs with 21 and RBIs with 73, and 98 strikeouts to 33 walks. The Twins traded Escobar to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 27, 2018. He finished the 2018 season with 154 hits, 48 doubles, 23 home runs, 84 RBIs, 126 strikeouts to 52 walks, and a .272 batting average in 97 games with the Twins and 54 games with the Diamondbacks. Defensively, as a third baseman, he made 224 assists, 70 putouts, and 5 errors.

The Diamondbacks traded Escobar to the Milwaukee Brewers on July 28, 2021. He finished the 2021 season with 139 hits, 26 doubles, 28 home runs, 90 RBIs, 124 strikeouts to 48 walks, and a .253 batting average in 98 games with the Diamondbacks and 48 games with the Brewers. In the postseason, he had 3 hits in 10 at-bats in 4 games.

Escobar became a free agent on November 3, 2021. He signed with the New York Mets on December 1st.

The Mets traded Escobar to the Angels on June 24, 2023.
