Emilio Bonifacio, outfielder, started his professional baseball career with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2003. He played in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2003 through most of 2007, joining the Diamondbacks for 11 games that season.

After just eight games with the Diamondbacks in 2008, they traded Bonifacio to the Washington Nationals. He played in 41 games with the Nationals in 2008 and then he was traded again, this time to the Miami Marlins in November, 2008.

In 2009, Bonifacio played in 127 games with the Marlins. He finished the season with 116 hits, 21 stolen bases, and a .252 batting average. The following season, he played in just 73 games with the Marlins. He had his only full season in 2011, when he played in 152 games. That year, he batted .296 with 167 hits, 26 doubles, and 40 stolen bases.

Bonifacio spent most of the 2012 season on the DL, playing in just 64 games with the Marlins. In November, 2012, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. He was traded again in August, 2013, to the Kansas City Royals. He finished the 2013 season with 102 hits, 22 doubles, 28 stolen bases, and a .243 batting average in 94 games with the Blue Jays and 42 games with the Royals.

In February, 2014, Bonifacio signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs. On July 31, 2014, he was traded to the Atlanta Braves. He finished the 2014 season with 102 hits, 17 doubles, 26 stolen bases, and a .259 batting average in 69 games with the Cubs and 41 games with the Braves.

Bonifacio signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Chicago White Sox on January 8, 2015. After 47 games with the White Sox in 2015, he was released on August 18th. A week later, on August 25th, he signed a minor league contract to return to the Cubs. He finished the 2015 season with 13 hits and a .167 batting average. Defensively, he played 17 games at second base, 1 game at third base, 2 games in left field, and 3 games in center field.

On December 9, 2015, Bonifacio agreed to a one-year, $1.15 million contract with the Atlanta Braves. He spent most of the 2016 season in the minors, playing in just 24 games with the Braves.

Bonifacio signed a minor league contract with the Braves on December 9, 2016. He was released on June 6, 2017. He returned to the Diamondbacks on a minor league contract on August 1, 2017. He played in just 38 games with the Braves in 2017.

Bonifacio elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on August 31, 2018. He spent the 2018 season in the minors.

Bonifacio became a free agent on November 2, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on January 28, 2019. He spent the 2019 season in the minors.

Bonifacio became a free agent on November 4, 2019. He returned to the Nationals on a minor league contract on February 12, 2020. After just three games with the Nationals in 2020, he was sent to the minors on August 7th. A day later, he elected free agency.

Bonifacio played in the Dominican Winter League in 2020 and 2021.
