Erasmo Ramirez, pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, started playing baseball while he was in school in El Salvador. He signed with the Seattle Mariners in September, 2007. He played in their minor league system from 2008 through 2013, finishing with a 45-24 record, 501 strikeouts to 111 walks, and a 3.27 ERA in 109 games.

In 2012, Ramirez joined the Mariners for 16 games. He pitched 59.0 innings and he finished the season with a 1-3 record and a 3.36 ERA. He spent time on the DL and in the minors in 2013, pitching in just 14 games with the Mariners. He pitched 72.1 innings and finished the season with a 5-3 record and a 4.98 ERA. He finished the 2014 season with a 1-6 record, 60 strikeouts to 34 walks, and a 5.26 ERA in 75.1 innings in 17 games.

Ramirez was traded to the Rays on March 31, 2015. He finished the 2015 season with an 11-6 record, 126 strikeouts to 40 walks, and a 3.75 ERA in 163.1 innings in 34 games.

Ramirez pitched out of the Rays' bullpen in 64 games in 2016. He finished the season with a 3.77 ERA, 7 wins to 11 losses, 2 saves, and 63 strikeouts to 26 walks in 90.2 innings.

Ramirez returned to the Mariners in a trade on July 28, 2017. He finished the 2017 season with a 4.39 ERA, 5 wins and 6 losses, and 109 strikeouts to 31 walks in 26 games with the Rays and 11 games with the Mariners. He was both a starter and a reliever with the Rays and just a starter with the Mariners.

Ramirez signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on March 16, 2022.

The Nationals released Ramirez on June 8, 2023. He signed a minor league contract with the Rays on June 13th.
