Eric Stults, retired pitcher, was first drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2002. After almost four years in the minor leagues, he joined the Dodgers in September, 2006, for six games. In the next three seasons, he played primarily in the minor leagues, pitching in just 29 games with the Dodgers over the three years. He spent the 2010 season pitching in Japan.
In November, 2010, Stults signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies. He played in six games with the Rockies in 2011 before they designated him for assignment on July 25, 2011.
Stults signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox in December, 2011. He was called up to the White Sox in May, 2012, but later that month, he was designated for assignment. He was then claimed off waivers, also in May, by the San Diego Padres. He pitched in 18 games with the Padres in 2012.
Stults pitched 203.2 innings in 33 games in 2013. He finished the season with an 11-13 record, 131 strikeouts to 40 walks, and a 3.93 ERA. After the season ended, he signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Padres. He finished the 2014 season with an 8-17 record, 111 strikeouts to 45 walks, and a 4.30 ERA in 176.0 innings in 32 games.
On February 3, 2015, Stults signed with the Atlanta Braves. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 27, 2015, and they immediately sent him to the minors. He finished the 2015 season with a 1-5 record, 21 strikeouts to 13 walks, and a 5.85 ERA in 47.2 innings in 9 games with the Braves. He also pitched in 16 games in the minors.
