Franklin Morales, relief pitcher, was first drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2002. He pitched in the Rockies' minor league system from 2004 through 2008, joining the Rockies for 8 games in 2007 and 5 games in 2008.
Morales began his career with the Rockies as both a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher in 2009. That season, he pitched 40.0 innings in 40 games and he finished with a 3-2 record, 7 saves, and a 4.50 ERA. The next season, he was primarily a relief pitcher, pitching 28.2 innings in 35 games.
In May, 2011, the Boston Red Sox purchased Morales' contract. That season, he again was a relief pitcher, finishing the season with a 1-2 record and 3.69 ERA in 14 games with the Rockies and 36 games with the Red Sox.
Morales served as both a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher with the Red Sox in 2010, finishing the season with a 3-4 record, 1 save, and a 3.77 ERA in 37 games. In 2013, he pitched 25.1 innings in one start and 19 relief appearances. He finished with a 2-2 record and a 4.62 ERA.
In December, 2013, the Red Sox traded Morales back to the Rockies. He finished the 2014 season with a 6-9 record, 100 strikeouts to 65 walks, and a 5.37 ERA in 142.1 innings in 38 games as both a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher.
Morales signed with the Kansas City Royals on February 19, 2015. As a relief pitcher in 2015, he had 41 strikeouts to 14 walks and a 3.18 ERA in 62.1 innings in 67 games. He pitched 2.1 innings in 3 games in the postseason and he gave up 5 hits and 5 runs.
Morales signed with the Milwaukee Brewers on March 5, 2016 and he was released on March 28th. He signed with the Toronto Blue Jays on April 2nd. He pitched just 4.0 innings in 5 games with the Blue Jays before he was released on August 9th.
Morales played in the Mexican League in 2017. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2017.
