Gaby Sanchez was first drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2002 but he opted for college. Three years later, he was drafted by the Miami Marlins. Sanchez played in the minor leagues from 2005 through 2009, playing with the Marlins in just 5 games in 2008 and 21 games in 2009.
Sanchez' best season in the major leagues was 2010, his rookie season. That year, he batted .273 with career highs in hits with 156, doubles with 37, and home runs with 19.
Sanchez played the beginning part of the 2012 season in the minor leagues. After 55 games with the Marlins, they traded him to the Pittsburgh Pirates at the end of July. In a total of 105 games in 2012, Sanchez batted just .217. In 2013, he played in 136 games with the Pirates and he batted .254 with 67 hits and 18 doubles. He finished the 2014 season with 60 hits, 18 doubles, and a .229 batting average in 123 games.
Sanchez played in Japan in 2015.
Sanchez signed with the Seattle Mariners on January 22, 2016 but they released him on March 13, 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since then.
