Garrett Jones

Garrett Jones was first drafted in 1999 by the Atlanta Braves. After three years in the minor leagues for the Braves, Jones signed with the Minnesota Twins in 2002. He stayed in the minor leagues for almost his entire time with the Twins, playing with them in just 31 games in 2007. The following season, he was back in the minor leagues.

In December, 2008, Jones signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The following season, he played in 82 games with the Pirates. In 2010, his first full season in the major leagues, Jones batted .247 with 21 home runs in 148 games. That year, he had career highs in hits with 146, doubles with 34, and RBIs with 86.

In 2013, Jones batted just .233 with 94 hits, 26 doubles, and 15 home runs in 144 games. In December, 2013, he became a free agent and he signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Miami Marlins. He finished the 2014 season with 122 hits, 33 doubles, 15 home runs, 53 RBIs, and a .246 batting average in 146 games.

Jones was traded to the New York Yankees on December 19, 2014. After 57 games with the Yankees in 2015, he was released on August 20th.

Jones played in Japan in 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since then.
