Grant Green, infielder, was first drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2006 but he opted instead for college. Three years later, as a top collegiate player, he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics. He played in the Athletics' minor league system from 2009 through 2012.
After five games with the Athletics in 2013, they traded Green to the Los Angeles Angels. He then played in 40 games with the Angels and batted .280 with 35 hits and 8 doubles. As a second baseman for the Angels, he made 85 assists, 65 putouts, 14 double plays, and 2 errors in 40 games.
Green played in 43 games with the Angels in 2014 and in just 21 games in 2015. He played in 93 games in the minor leagues in 2015. The Angels designated him for assignment at the end of the season.
Green signed with the San Francisco Giants on November 23, 2015. He spent most of the 2016 season in the minors, playing in just 18 games with the Giants.
Green became a free agent on October 12, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on January 27, 2017. He was designated for assignment on April 21, 2017.
Green signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox on June 21, 2017. He was released on August 7th. Eleven days later, he signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins. He spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, playing in just 2 games with the Nationals in April.
Green elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He played in the Mexican League in 2018. He was released on July 3, 2018. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
