Ike Davis, retired first baseman and pitcher, grew up in a baseball family. His father, Ron Davis, was a major league relief pitcher for eleven years, playing for five teams, including the New York Yankees. Ike was a star baseball player in college when the New York Mets drafted him in 2008.

After just two years in the minor leagues, Davis became the Mets' regular first baseman in 2010. He had a good rookie season, batting .264 with career highs in hits (138) and doubles (33) and hitting 19 home runs and driving in 71 runs in 147 games. His fielding statistics in 2010 were also good with 105 assists, 1,239 putouts, 133 double plays, 9 errors, and a .993 fielding percentage in 146 games at first base.

In 2011, Davis and Mets' third baseman David Wright collided and Davis ended up with an ankle injury that ended his season. He played in just 36 games that year. He came back strong the next year, playing in 156 games in 2012 with career highs in home runs with 32 and RBIs with 90. He batted .227 with 118 hits and 26 doubles. Defensively, he also had a strong year in 2012, ending with a fielding percentage of .994.

Davis struggled in 2013, batting just .205 with 65 hits in 103 games. He also had his worst defensive season, with nine errors and a fielding percentage of .989. The Mets traded Davis to the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 18, 2014. He finished the 2014 season with 84 hits, 19 doubles, and a .233 batting average in 12 games with the Mets and 131 games with the Pirates.

Davis was acquired by the Oakland Athletics on November 23, 2014. In 2015, he played in 74 games with the Athletics before going on the DL in August for hip surgery that ended his season. He finished the season with a .229 batting average, 49 hits, and 17 doubles. Defensively, at first base, he made 41 assists, 53 double plays, and 492 putouts in 65 games. He had a .993 fielding percentage.

Davis signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 22, 2016. He was released by the Rangers on June 12, 2016 and he signed with the New York Yankees on June 13th. Less than two weeks later, on June 26th, he was designated for assignment by the Yankees. He played in just eight games with the Yankees.

Davis signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on January 27, 2017. He spent the 2017 season in the minors, as a first baseman and, in the second half of the season, as a pitcher.

Davis played for Israel in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He batted .471 with 3 RBIs in 17 at-bats.

Davis elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He didn't play professional baseball in 2018.

Davis retired in November, 2018.
