Jason Kubel

Jason Kubel started his professional baseball career in the Minnesota Twins' minor league system in 2000. He played in the minors through most of 2004, joining the Twins for 23 games that season. He suffered a knee injury in the fall of 2004 and he missed the entire 2005 season. The following year, he again had knee problems and he played in just 73 games with the Twins, spending the rest of the season on the DL and in the minors.
In 2007, his first full season in the major leagues, Kubel batted .273 with 114 hits, 31 doubles, and 65 RBIs in 128 games. The following season, he became the Twins designated hitter.
Kubel had his best season in 2009 when he had career highs in hits (154), doubles (35), RBIs (103), and batting average (.300). Two years later, he was once again on the DL, playing in just 99 games in 2011.
Kubel signed a two-year, $15 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks in December, 2011. He batted .253 with a career high 30 home runs in 2012. In 2013, after 89 games, the Diamondbacks traded Kubel to the Cleveland Indians. In a total of 97 games in 2013, Kubel batted just .216 with 56 hits.
In December, 2013, Kubel rejoined the Twins when he signed a minor league contract with them. He finished the 2014 season with 35 hits and a .224 batting average in just 45 games. He was released by the Twins on June 15, 2014.
