Jedd Gyorko, second baseman, was first drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2010. He spent three full seasons in the minor leagues, ending with an impressive .321 batting average. He started his major league career with the Padres in 2013. That season he had 121 hits, 26 doubles, 23 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a .249 batting average in 125 games.
Gyorko played in 111 games with the Padres in 2014. He finished the season with 84 hits, 17 doubles, 51 RBIs, 100 strikeouts to 36 walks, and a .210 batting average. Defensively, as a second baseman, he made 281 assists, 60 double plays, 184 putouts, and 11 errors in 109 games.
Gyorko finished the 2015 season with 104 hits, 15 doubles, 16 home runs, 57 RBIs, and a .247 batting average. As a second baseman in 93 games, he made 230 assists, 46 double plays, 117 putouts, and 2 errors and he had a .994 fielding percentage.
Gyorko was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on December 8, 2015. He finished the 2016 season with 97 hits, a career high 30 home runs, 59 RBIs, and a .243 batting average in 128 games. Defensively, he played 11 games at first base, 46 games at second base, 39 games at third base, and 26 games at shortstop.
In 2017, Gyorko batted a career high .272 in 125 games. He had 116 hits, 21 doubles, 30 home runs, a career high 67 RBIs, and 105 strikeouts to 47 walks. Defensively, as the Cardinals' third baseman in 109 games, he made 212 assists, 53 putouts, and 9 errors.
Gyorko finished the 2018 season with 92 hits, 19 doubles, 47 RBIs, 77 strikeouts to 44 walks, and a .262 batting average in 125 games. Defensively, as the Cardinals' third baseman in 96 games, he made 119 assists, 46 putouts, and 10 errors.
Gyorko was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 31, 2019. He spent time on the DL in 2019 with a calf strain and with lower back strain. He batted .174 with 16 hits in 38 games with the Cardinals and 24 games with the Dodgers. He didn't play in the postseason.
Gyorko became a free agent on November 2, 2019. He signed with the Milwaukee Brewers on January 10, 2020. He played in 42 games in 2020, and he finished the season with 29 hits, 3 doubles, 9 home runs, 17 RBIs, 38 strikeouts to 15 walks, and a .248 batting average. Defensively, he played 30 games at first base and 11 games at third base. He was the DH in one game and he pitched in one game. In the postseason, he had 1 hit in 7 at-bats in 2 games.
Gyorko elected free agency on October 30, 2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2021.
