Jedd Gyorko, second baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, was first drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2010. He spent three full seasons in the minor leagues, ending with an impressive .321 batting average. He started his major league career with the Padres in 2013. That season he had 121 hits, 26 doubles, 23 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a .249 batting average in 125 games.

Gyorko played in 111 games with the Padres in 2014. He finished the season with 84 hits, 17 doubles, 51 RBIs, 100 strikeouts to 36 walks, and a .210 batting average. Defensively, as a second baseman, he made 281 assists, 60 double plays, 184 putouts, and 11 errors in 109 games.
