Jemile Weeks, second baseman, is the younger brother of Rickie Weeks of the Milwaukee Brewers. The younger Weeks was first drafted by his brother's team in 2005 but he opted for college instead. In 2008, he was drafted by the Athletics. An injury that year curtailed his playing time in the minors to just 19 games. Weeks spent all of the 2009 and 2010 seasons in the minor leagues.

In 2011, Weeks played in 97 games with the Athletics. He batted an impressive .303 with 123 hits, 26 doubles, and 22 stolen bases. In 2013, however, he was demoted to the minor leagues and he played in just eight games with the Athletics. In December, 2013, Weeks was traded to the Baltimore Orioles.

On May 7, 2014, Weeks was optioned back to the minor leagues. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox on August 30, 2014. He finished the 2014 season with just 11 hits in 3 games with the Orioles and 14 games with the Red Sox.

Weeks spent most of the 2015 season in the minors, playing in just three games with the Red Sox. On January 16, 2016, he signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres. Weeks played in just 17 games with the Padres in 2016.

Weeks became a free agent on October 26, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs on December 22, 2016. He spent the entire 2017 season in the minors.

Weeks became a free agent on November 6, 2017. He played in the Mexican League in 2018, before being released on July 3rd. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
