Jesus Guzman

Jesus Guzman was first signed by the Seattle Mariners in 2000 but he didn't play professional baseball until 2004 when he made his first start in the minor leagues. Guzman became a free agent in 2007 and he signed with the Oakland Athletics. Two years later, after six years in the minors, Guzman signed with the San Francisco Giants. He played in 12 games with the Giants in 2009. The following January, he was designated for assignment and he spent the 2010 season again in the minor leagues.

In November, 2010, Guzman signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres. In his first season with the Padres, he finally had the chance to play in 76 games in the major leagues. He had his first full season in 2012, playing in 120 games. That year, he batted .247 with 71 hits. Although he started out as a first baseman, he played primarily in left field in 2012.

In 2013, Guzman had 65 hits, 17 doubles, and a .226 batting average in 126 games with the Padres. He played 38 games at first base and 35 games in left field.

Guzman was traded to the Houston Astros in December, 2013. He finished the 2014 season with 31 hits and a .188 batting average in 69 games.

Guzman didn't play in the major leagues in 2015. He signed with the Chicago Cubs on January 1, 2016 but they released him on March 30th. He played in the Mexican League in 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2016.
