Joaquin Arias, infielder, started his professional baseball career in the New York Yankees' minor league system, playing there in 2002 and 2003. In March, 2004, the Yankees traded him to the Texas Rangers. He continued to play in the minor leagues until the Rangers called him up in 2006 for six games.

From 2006 through 2009, Arias played primarily in the Rangers' minor league system, joining the Rangers for only 41 games during those four seasons. After 50 games with the Rangers in 2010, they traded him to the New York Mets. That year, he had 33 hits and a .258 batting average in 50 games with the Rangers and 22 games with the Mets.

In November, 2010, the Kansas City Royals claimed Arias off waivers but he lasted just a little over a month with them, being designated for assignment in December, 2010. He spent the 2011 season in the minor leagues.

Arias signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants in December, 2011. In 2012, he had 86 hits and a .270 batting average in 112 games with the Giants. In 2013, he had similar numbers, with 61 hits and a .271 batting average in 102 games. He spent part of the 2013 season on the DL.

Arias played in 40 games with the Giants in 2015. During that time, he batted .207 with 12 hits. The Giants designated him for assignment on July 27, 2015.

Arias signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on December 11, 2015. He was released on March 31, 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2015.
