Jordan Schafer, pitcher, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2005. He played in the Braves' minor league system from 2005 through most of 2009. In 2008, he was suspended for 50 games for the use of HGH.

Schafer joined the Braves for 50 games in 2009. After batting just .204 in 2009, he was sent back to the minor leagues for the entire 2010 season. At the end of July, 2011, the Braves traded him to the Houston Astros. That season, he batted .242 in 52 games with the Braves and 30 games with the Astros.

Schafer played in 106 games with the Astros in 2012, finishing with a .211 batting average. In November, 2012, he was claimed off waivers by the Braves. In 2013, he had an ankle fracture that limited his playing time to 94 games. He finished the season with 57 hits and a .247 batting average.

On August 3, 2014, Schafer was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins. He finished the 2014 season with 50 hits, 30 stolen bases, and a .238 batting average in 63 games with the Braves and 41 games with the Twins.

After 27 games in 2015, the Twins released Schafer on June 18th. He signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 13, 2016. The Dodgers have stated that Schafer will be transitioned to a pitcher for the 2016 season. He played only in the minor leagues in 2016.

Schafer signed a minor league contract as a pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals on December 12, 2016. He spent the entire 2017 season in the minors.

The Cardinals released Schafer on March 12, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants on April 3rd and he was released on June 9th after playing in seven games in the minors.

Schafer hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
