Josh Collmenter, starting pitcher, was a top baseball player in high school and college before being drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007. He played in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2007 through 2010.

Collmenter pitched 154.1 innings in 31 games in 2011, his first season with the Diamondbacks. He finished the season with a 10-10 record and a 3.38 ERA.

In 2012 and 2013, Collmenter was both a starting pitcher and relief pitcher for the Diamondbacks. He pitched 90.1 innings in 28 games in 2012 and he finished with a 5-3 record and a 3.69 ERA. In 2013, he pitched 92.0 innings in 49 games and he had a 5-5 record with a 3.13 ERA. He finished the 2014 season with an 11-9 record, 1 save, 115 strikeouts to 39 walks, and a 3.46 ERA in 179.1 innings in 33 games.

Collmenter pitched as a starter and reliever in 44 games in 2015. He finished the season with a 4-6 record, 1 save, 63 strikeouts to 24 walks, and a 3.79 ERA in 121.0 innings. The Diamondbacks exercised his option for 2016 on November 4, 2015.

Collmenter was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on July 31, 2016, and released on August 7th. Three days later, he signed with the Chicago Cubs. The Atlanta Braves acquired him on September 14th. He finished the 2016 season with a 3.70 ERA, 3 wins to no losses, and 33 strikeouts to 16 walks in 15 games with the Diamondbacks and 3 games with the Braves.

The Braves designated Collmenter for assignment on May 25, 2017. He pitched in just 11 games as a relief pitcher in 2017, finishing with a 9.00 ERA in 17.0 innings.

Collmenter elected free agency on October 2, 2017. He played in the Australian Baseball League in 2018-2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2021.
