Kevin Gausman, pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2010 but he opted instead for college. A year later, he was drafted by and signed with the Baltimore Orioles. In July 2012, he signed a $4.32 million contract with Baltimore.
Gausman pitched in the Orioles' minor league system for less than two years, joining the team for 20 games last year. In 33 games in the minors, he had a 4-10 record with a 3.41 ERA.
In 2013, Gausman pitched 47.2 innings as a starting pitcher and as a relief pitcher in 20 games with the Orioles. He finished the season with a 3-5 record and a 5.66 ERA.
