Kyle Lohse, retired pitcher, was first drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1996. He played in the Cubs' minor league system from 1997 until 1999, when they traded him to the Minnesota Twins. He continued to pitch in the minor leagues until he was called up to the Twins in 2001 to play in 19 games with them.

In 2002, his first full season in the major leagues as a starting pitcher, Lohse pitched 180.2 innings in 32 games. He had a 13-8 win-loss record with a 4.23 ERA.

After 22 games with a 7.07 ERA in 2006, the Twins traded Lohse to the Cincinnati Reds. He played in 12 games with the Reds in 2006 and in 21 games in 2007 before they traded him to the Philadelphia Phillies. He pitched in 13 games with the Phillies in 2007.

In addition to being a top pitcher, Lohse is an excellent fielder. Although he hasn't won a Gold Glove award, he has had eight seasons with no errors (2002, 2004-2006, 2008, 2011-2013). His career fielding statistics include 270 assists, 184 putouts, and just 5 errors in 387 games played.

Lohse struggled as a starting pitcher in 2015 and he was moved to the Brewers' bullpen in early August. He finished the season with a 5-13 record, 108 strikeouts to 43 walks, and a 5.85 ERA in 152.1 innings in 37 games.

Lohse signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on May 13, 2016. He was released by the Rangers on July 31, 2016, after playing in just two games with them. He didn't play professional baseball in 2017.
