L.J. Hoes, right fielder, was first drafted by the Orioles in 2008. From 2008 through 2012, he played in the Orioles' minor league system, playing in just two games with the Orioles in 2012.

In July, 2013, after just one game with the Orioles, Hoes was traded to the Houston Astros. He played in 46 games with the Astros and batted .287 with 48 hits. As a right fielder in 2013, Hoes played in 44 games and he made 81 putouts and 4 errors with a .953 fielding percentage.

Hoes finished the 2014 season with 21 hits, 31 strikeouts to 10 walks, and a .172 batting average in 55 games. Defensively, he made 70 putouts and 2 errors in 36 games in left field and 12 games in right field.

Hoes spent most of the 2015 season in the minors, playing in just eight games with the Astros. He was traded back to the Orioles on November 25, 2015. He spent the 2016 season in the minors.

Hoes became a free agent on November 7, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles on July 12, 2018. However, he didn't play professional baseball in 2018.

Hoes elected free agency on November 2, 2018. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2017.
