Martin Prado, retired third baseman, played in the minor leagues from 2003 through most of 2006 and 2007. In 2006, he played in 24 games in the major leagues with the Atlanta Braves. The following year, he played in 28 games. He spent half of 2008 in the minors as well as playing in 78 games with the Braves that season.

In 2009, his first full season in the major leagues, Prado batted an impressive .307 with 138 hits, 38 doubles, and 11 home runs in 128 games with the Braves. He stayed with the Braves through 2012. Although he had a strong season with the Braves that year, they traded him to the Arizona Diamondbacks after the season ended. In 2012, he batted .301 with career highs in hits with 186, doubles with 42, and stolen bases with 17.

Prado had a good first year with the Diamondbacks. In 2013, he batted .282 with 172 hits, 36 doubles, 14 home runs, and a career high 82 RBIs in 155 games.

On July 31, 2014, Prado was traded to the New York Yankees. He finished the 2014 season with 151 hits, 26 doubles, 58 RBIs, and a .282 batting average in 106 games with the Diamondbacks and 37 games with the Yankees.

Prado was traded to the Miami Marlins on December 19, 2014. He finished the 2015 season with 144 hits, 22 doubles, 63 RBIs, and a .288 batting average in 129 games. Defensively, at third base in 124 games, he made 218 assists, 28 double plays, 72 putouts, and 7 errors.

Prado had a strong 2016 season, finishing with a .305 batting average. He had 183 hits, 37 doubles, and 75 RBIs. Defensively, as the Marlins third baseman in 150 games, he made 240 assists, 30 double plays, 73 putouts, and 9 errors.

Prado spent most of the 2017 season on the DL, playing in just 37 games with the Marlins. He had 35 hits and a .250 batting average.

Prado again spent time on the DL in 2018, playing in just 54 games with the Marlins. He had 48 hits and a .244 batting average.

Prado was once more on the DL in 2019, this time with a right hamstring strain. He finished the season with 57 hits and a .233 batting average in 104 games. Defensively, he played 40 games at first base and 22 games at third base.

Prado retired in February, 2020.
