Nick Castellanos, right fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies, was drafted in 2010 by the Detroit Tigers. He started in the minor leagues with 10 games in 2010. He continued playing in the minors through most of 2013 and he had a .303 batting average.

In 2013, Castellanos played in just 11 games with the Tigers. He finished the 2014 season with 138 hits, 31 doubles, 66 RBIs, 140 strikeouts to 36 walks, and a .259 batting average in 148 games. Defensively, as a third baseman, he made 212 assists, 22 double plays, 75 putouts, and 15 errors in 145 games. He played in three games in the postseason and he had a home run in 10 at-bats.

Castellanos became a free agent on October 31, 2019. He signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Cincinnati Reds on January 27, 2020. He played in 60 games in 2020, and he finished the season with 49 hits, 11 doubles, 14 home runs, 34 RBIs, 69 strikeouts to 19 walks, and a .225 batting average. Defensively, he played 57 games in right field.

Castellanos had a strong offensive season in 2021, and he won his first Silver Slugger award. In 138 games, he batted .309 with 164 hits, 38 doubles, 34 home runs, 100 RBIs, and 121 strikeouts to 41 walks. Defensively, as a right fielder in 135 games, he made 226 putouts and 2 errors.

Castellanos became a free agent on November 4, 2021. He signed with the Phillies on March 22, 2022.
