Ramiro Pena, second baseman, played in the Mexican league prior to being signed by the New York Yankees in 2005. He played in the Yankees' minor league system from 2005 through part of 2009, joining the Yankees for 69 games in 2009.
In 2010, Pena was on the Yankees' roster as a utility infielder. That season, he played in a career high 85 games and he had 35 hits and a .227 batting average. The following season, he was on the DL and in the minors, playing in just 23 games with the Yankees. He spent almost the entire 2012 season in the minor leagues.
Pena was signed by the Atlanta Braves in December, 2012. He suffered a shoulder injury in 2013 that limited his playing time to 50 games. He finished the 2014 season with 36 hits and a .245 batting average in 81 games.
Pena signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres on January 26, 2015. He spent the entire 2015 season in the Pacific Coast League minors.
Pena signed with the San Francisco Giants on December 7, 2015. After 30 games with them in 2016, he was designated for assignment on July 30th.
Pena became a free agent on October 3, 2016. He didn't play professional baseball in 2017.
Pena played in the Mexican League in 2018 and 2019. He played in the Mexican Pacific Winter League and in the Caribbean Series in 2020.
