Ramon Santiago, infielder, was first signed by the Detroit Tigers in 1998. He played in the Tigers' minor league system from 1999 through part of 2002, joining the Tigers for 65 games in 2002.

In 2003, his first and only full season in the major leagues, Santiago batted .225 with 100 hits and 18 doubles in 141 games. He played 85 games at shortstop and 53 games at second base that year.

Santiago was traded to the Seattle Mariners in January, 2004, but he only played in 27 games with them in two seasons. He signed again with the Tigers in January, 2006. From 2006 through 2008, his time was split between the minor leagues and the Tigers.

Santiago played in 93 games with the Tigers in 2009 and he finished with 70 hits and a .267 batting average. His statistics were similar for the next two seasons. He had a significant drop in batting average in 2012, when he batted just .206 in 93 games. In 2013, he had a .224 batting average in 80 games.

In January, 2014, Santiago signed with the Reds. He finished the 2014 season with 44 hits and a .246 batting average in 75 games.

Santiago signed with the Blue Jays on January 30, 2015. He only played in the minor leagues in 2015. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2015.

Santiago was hired as a coach for the Detroit Tigers in 2018.
