Reed Johnson, outfielder, was first drafted in 1999 by the Toronto Blue Jays. He played in the Blue Jays' minor league system from 1999 through part of 2003.

Johnson joined the Blue Jays in 2003, playing in 114 games with them. He finished the season with 121 hits, 21 doubles, and a .294 batting average. The next year, he was part of the regular roster and he played in 141 games. He finished the 2004 season with 145 hits, 61 RBIs, and a .270 batting average.

In December, 2005, Johnson signed a one-year, $1,425,000 contract extension with the Blue Jays. He had his best season in 2006, finishing with career highs in hits (147), doubles (34), and batting average (.319).

The Blue Jays released Johnson on March 23, 2008, and two days later, he signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Cubs. He batted .303 with 101 hits in 109 games that season. He spent most of the 2009 season on the DL with a fractured foot, playing in just 65 games with the Cubs.

Johnson signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in February, 2010. He batted .262 with 53 hits in 102 games in 2010. The following January, he signed again with the Cubs. In 2011, he batted .309 with 76 hits in 111 games.

After his strong 2011 season as a fourth outfielder for the Cubs, Johnson signed a new one-year contract with the team in December, 2011. He didn't last long, however, with the Cubs. In July, 2012, they traded him to the Atlanta Braves. He finished the 2012 season with a .290 batting average in 76 games with the Cubs and 43 games with the Braves.

Johnson played in just 74 games with the Braves in 2013. He finished the season with a .244 batting average.

In January, 2014, Johnson signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins. He finished the 2014 season with 44 hits and a .235 batting average in 113 games.

Johnson signed again with the Marlins on February 17, 2015, but they released him on March 29th. The following day, he signed with the Washington Nationals. He played in just 17 games with the Nationals in 2015.

The Nationals released Johnson on April 1, 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2015.
