Ryan Flaherty, infielder, was originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2008. He played in their minor league system from 2008 through 2011. The Baltimore Orioles drafted him in December, 2011.

In 2012, Flaherty joined the Orioles for 77 games, batting just .216 with 33 hits. He had slightly better numbers in 2013 with 55 hits and a .224 batting average in 85 games. He was primarily a second baseman in 2013, making 176 assists, 105 putouts, 52 double plays, and 2 errors in 65 games.

Flaherty finished the 2014 season with 62 hits, 15 doubles, and a .221 batting average in 102 games. He had 6 hits, 1 home run, and 4 RBIs in 21 at-bats in 7 games in the postseason.

On January 26, 2015, Flaherty and the Orioles agreed to a one-year, $1,075,000 contract. He spent time on the DL in 2015 after suffering a groin injury in late April. He finished the season with 54 hits and a .202 batting average in 91 games. He played all defensive positions except for center field.

Flaherty batted .217 in 74 games with the Orioles in 2016. Defensively, he played at all four infield positions and in left field and right field. He also pitched in one game.

Flaherty spent most of the 2017 season on the DL, playing in just 23 games with the Orioles.

Flaherty elected free agency on November 2, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on February 8, 2018. He was released on March 22nd. Four days later, on March 26th, he signed with the Atlanta Braves. He finished the 2018 season with 35 hits and a .217 batting average in 81 games. Defensively, he played 7 games at first base, 1 game at second base, and 40 games at third base.

Flaherty became a free agent on October 29, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians on February 7, 2019. He elected free agency again on March 20th. The Indians signed him again to a minor league contract on April 1st. He spent most of the 2019 season in the minors, playing in just 14 games with the Indians.

Flaherty became a free agent on October 31, 2019. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
