Seth Smith, outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles, was first drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2004. He played in the Rockies' minor league system from 2004 through most of 2008. He played in 7 games with the Rockies in 2007 and in 67 games with them in 2008.

In 2009, his first full season in the major leagues, Smith batted a career high .293 with 98 hits, 20 doubles, and 15 home runs. The next season, he batted .246 in 133 games. His best season was in 2011, when he batted .284 with career highs in hits (135), doubles (32), and RBIs (59).

The Rockies traded Smith to the Oakland Athletics in January, 2012. In 2013, he batted .253 with 93 hits and 27 doubles in 117 games.
