Tommy Medica, utility player, was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres as a catcher in 2010. However, a shoulder injury prevented him from continuing as a catcher. He played in the Padres' minor league system from 2010 through part of 2014, finishing with a .289 batting average, 331 hits, 100 doubles, and 223 RBIs in 324 games.

In 2013, Medica joined the Padres for 19 games. He finished the 2014 season with 56 hits, 74 strikeouts to 14 walks, and a .233 batting average in 102 games. Defensively, as a first baseman, he made 26 assists, 29 double plays, 292 putouts, and one error in 46 games. He spent the 2015 season in the minors.

Medica was claimed off waivers by the Miami Marlins on September 8, 2015. He was released on March 30, 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2015.
