Trevor Plouffe, third baseman, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2004 and he spent almost seven years in the minor leagues before making his first appearance in a Twins uniform. In 2010, he played in 22 games with the Twins.

In 2011, Plouffe played in 81 games with the Twins. That season, he was a utility defensive player, playing at first base, second base, shortstop, left field, and right field. He became the regular third baseman for the Twins in 2012. That season, he played in 119 games and batted .235.

In 2013, Plouffe batted .254 with 121 hits, 22 doubles, and 14 home runs in 129 games. He finished the 2014 season with 134 hits, 40 doubles, 14 home runs, 80 RBIs, and a .258 batting average in 136 games.

Plouffe played in a career high 152 games in 2015. He finished the season with 140 hits, 35 doubles, 22 home runs, 86 RBIs, and a .244 batting average. As a third baseman, he made 277 assists, 32 double plays, 101 putouts, and 11 errors in 140 games.

In 2016, Plouffe batted .260 in 84 games with the Twins. He had 83 hits, 13 doubles, 12 home runs, and 47 RBIs. Defensively, he played 13 games at first base and 63 games at third base.

Plouffe became a free agent on November 19, 2016. He signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Oakland Athletics on January 18, 2017. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on June 17, 2017. He was designated for assignment on August 23rd. He finished the 2017 season with a .198 batting average in 58 games with the Athletics and 42 games with the Rays. Defensively, he played 11 games at first basee, 3 games at second base, and 64 games at third base.

Plouffe elected free agency on November 2, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 12, 2018. He was released on April 10th. He signed a minor league contract with the Phillies on April 23rd. He spent most of the 2018 season in the minors, playing in just seven games with the Phillies.

Plouffe became a free agent on October 5, 2018. He signed a new minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on February 21, 2019. He was released exactly one month later, on March 21st. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
