Tyler Matzek, pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2009. He pitched in the Rockies' minor league system from 2010 through part of 2014. In 106 games in the minors, he had a 29-29 record and a 4.34 ERA.

Matzek joined the Rockies for 20 games in 2014. He finished the season with a 6-11 record, 91 strikeouts to 44 walks, and a 4.05 ERA in 117.2 innings.

Matzek pitched in just five games with the Rockies in 2015. He finished the season with a 2-1 record, 15 strikeouts to 19 walks, and a 4.09 ERA in 22.0 innings.

Matzek spent the 2016 season on the DL and in the minors. He became a free agent on November 7, 2016. He signed with the Chicago White Sox on February 13, 2017, and he was released on March 30th. He didn't play professional baseball in 2017.

Matzek signed with the Seattle Mariners on February 17, 2018, and he was released on March 29th. He didn't play professional baseball in 2018.

Matzek signed a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on January 16, 2019. He was released on May 16, 2019. The Braves signed him to a minor league contract on August 15th. He played only in the minors in 2019.
