Tyler Skaggs

Tyler Skaggs was first drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in 2009. He played in their minor league system from 2009 until July, 2010, when they traded him to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He then pitched in the Diamondbacks' minor league system through most of the 2013 season. He finished his minor league career with a 33-27 win-loss record and a 3.34 ERA in 97 games.

Skaggs pitched in six games with the Diamondbacks in 2012 and in seven games in 2013. In December, 2013, Arizona traded him back to the Angels.

On August 10, 2014, the Angels announced that Skaggs would have season-ending Tommy John surgery. In 18 games with the Angels in 2014, he had a 5-5 record, 86 strikeouts to 30 walks, and a 4.30 ERA. He missed the entire 2015 season, recovering from the surgery.

Skaggs pitched just 49.2 innings in 10 games in 2016. He had a 4.17 ERA, 3 wins to 4 losses, and 50 strikeouts to 23 walks.

In 2017, Skaggs spent time on the DL. He finished the season with 2 wins and 6 losses, 76 strikeouts to 28 walks, and a 4.55 ERA in 16 games.

Skaggs was again on the DL in 2018. He pitched in 24 games and he had a 4.02 ERA. He finished the season with 8 wins and 10 losses and 129 strikeouts to 40 walks in 125.1 innings.

Skaggs died on July 1, 2019.
