Wade Miley, starting pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2008. He pitched in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2008 through most of 2011, finishing his minor league career with a 24-21 win-loss record and a 3.69 ERA. He joined the Diamondbacks for eight games in 2011.
In 2012, his first full season in the major leagues, Miley pitched 194.2 innings and he had a 16-11 record with a 3.33 ERA. He pitched 202.2 innings in 33 games in 2013 and he finished with a 10-10 record and a 3.55 ERA. He finished the 2014 season with an 8-12 record, 183 strikeouts to 75 walks, and a 4.34 ERA in 201.1 innings in 33 games.
Miley was traded to the Boston Red Sox on December 12, 2014, for Rubby De La Rosa. He finished the 2015 season with an 11-11 record, 147 strikeouts to 64 walks, and a 4.46 ERA in 193.2 innings in 32 games.
Miley was traded to the Seattle Mariners on December 7, 2015. The Mariners traded him to the Baltimore Orioles on July 31, 2016. He finished the 2016 season with a 5.37 ERA, 9 wins to 13 losses, and 137 strikeouts to 49 walks in 19 games with the Mariners and 11 games with the Orioles.
In 2017, Miley had a 5.61 ERA in 32 games. He finished the season with 8 wins and 15 losses and 142 strikeouts to 93 walks in 157.1 innings.
Miley became a free agent on November 3, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Brewers on February 16, 2018. He spent time on the DL in 2018 with a right oblique strain. Miley became a free agent on October 31, 2019. He signed a two-year, $15 million contract with the Cincinnati Reds on December 18th. He pitched in 6 games in 2020, and he finished the season with no wins and 3 losses, 12 strikeouts to 9 walks, and a 5.65 ERA in 14.1 innings.
Miley spent time on the IL in 2021 with a left foot sprain and neck strain. He finished the season with 12 wins and 7 losses, 125 strikeouts to 50 walks, and a 3.34 ERA in 163.0 innings in 28 games.
The Chicago Cubs claimed Miley off waivers on November 5, 2021.
Miley became a free agent on November 6, 2022. He signed with the Brewers on January 9, 2023.
