Yovani Gallardo, pitcher, was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2004. He played in their minor league system from 2004 to 2007, when he was called up to pitch in 20 games with the Brewers. In 2007, he had a 9-5 record and a 3.67 ERA. The following season, he was on the DL and he pitched in just four games with the Brewers.
In April, 2010, Gallardo signed a five-year, $30.1 million contract extension with the Brewers. That season, he won a Silver Slugger award for batting .254 with 16 hits, 4 doubles, 4 home runs, and 10 RBIs in 63 at-bats.
Gallardo had his best season in 2011 when he had career highs in games played (33), innings pitched (207.1), wins (17 to 10 losses), and strikeouts (207 to 59 walks). That season, he had a 3.52 ERA. Gallardo signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles on February 25, 2016. The contract includes a third year club option. He finished the 2016 season with a 5.42 ERA, 6 wins to 8 losses, and 85 strikeouts to 61 walks in 118.0 innings in 23 games.
Gallardo was traded to the Seattle Mariners on January 6, 2017. He finished the 2017 season with 5 wins and 10 losses, 94 strikeouts to 60 walks, and a career high ERA of 5.72 in 130.2 innings in 28 games.
