Zack Cozart, shortstop, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2007. He played in the minor leagues from 2007 through 2011 and he batted .270. He played in just 11 games with the Reds in 2011.

In 2012, his first full season with the Reds, Cozart batted .246 with 138 hits, 33 doubles, and 15 home runs in 138 games. In 2013, he batted .254 with 144 hits, 30 doubles, 12 home runs, and 63 RBIs in 151 games. He finished the 2014 season with 112 hits, 18 doubles, and a .221 batting average in 147 games.

On June 10, 2015, Cozart had knee surgery that ended the season for him. In 53 games with the Reds, he batted .258 with 50 hits. As a shortstop, he made 132 assists, 30 double plays, 79 putouts, and 3 errors in 52 games.

Cozart batted .252 in 121 games in 2016. He finished the season with 117 hits, 28 doubles, 16 home runs, 50 RBIs, and 84 strikeouts to 37 walks. Defensively, as the Reds' shortstop in 111 games, he made 300 assists, 69 double plays, 192 putouts, and 10 errors.

In 2017, Cozart batted .297 in 122 games with the Reds. He finished the season with 130 hits, 24 doubles, 24 home runs, 63 RBIs, and 78 strikeouts to 62 walks. Defensively, as the Reds' shortstop in 112 games, he made 288 assists, 65 double plays, 146 putouts, and 11 errors.

Cozart became a free agent on November 2, 2017. He signed with the Los Angeles Angels on December 15, 2017. His 2018 season ended in June when he had shoulder surgery. Prior to that time, he batted .219 with 49 hits and 13 doubles in 58 games.

Cozart spent time on the DL in 2019 recovering from shoulder surgery. He played in just 38 games and he batted .124.

The Angels traded Cozart to the San Francisco Giants on December 10, 2019. A month later, on January 15, 2020, he was released. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
