Aaron Sanchez, starting pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010. He played in the Blue Jays' minor league system from 2010 through part of 2014. As a minor leaguer, he had a 3.51 ERA with an 18-23 record and 349 strikeouts to 191 walks in 93 games.

In 2014, Sanchez pitched out of the Blue Jays' bullpen in 24 games. During that time, he pitched 33.0 innings and he had a 2-2 record and a 1.09 ERA.

Sanchez pitched both from the Blue Jays' starting rotation and from their bullpen in 2015. He finished the season with a 7-6 record, 61 strikeouts to 44 walks, and a 3.22 ERA in 92.1 innings in 41 games. In 9 postseason games, he pitched 7.1 innings and he gave up 7 hits and 1 run.

Sanchez had a good 2016 season as part of the Blue Jays starting rotation. He finished the season with an ERA of 3.00, 15 wins to 2 losses, and 161 strikeouts to 63 walks in 30 games. In the postseason, he pitched 11.2 innings in 2 games and he gave up 5 hits and 7 runs.

Sanchez spent most of the 2017 season on the DL, pitching just 36.0 innings in 8 games with the Blue Jays.

In 2018, Sanchez had a 4.89 ERA in 20 games with the Blue Jays. He finished the season with 4 wns and 6 losses and 86 strikeouts to 58 walks in 105.0 innings.

Sanchez was traded to the Houston Astros on July 31, 2019. He spent time on the DL in 2019 with pectoral soreness. He finished the season with 5 wins and 14 losses, 115 strikeouts to 68 walks, and a 5.89 ERA in 131.1 innings in 23 games with the Blue Jays and 4 games with the Astros. He didn't pitch in the postseason.

Sanchez became a free agent on December 2, 2019. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Sanchez signed with the San Francisco Giants on February 21, 2021. He was released on August 13, 2021. He spent time on the IL in 2021 with right bicep tightness. In 9 games with the Giants, he had 1 win and 1 loss and a 3.06 ERA in 35.1 innings.

Sanchez signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on March 16, 2022. He elected free agency on May 31st, after being sent to the minors by the Nationals. He signed a minor league contract with the Twins on June 6th.
