Anthony DeSclafani, starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, was first drafted in 2008 by the Boston Red Sox but he opted instead for college. Three years later, he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays. After just one season in the Blue Jays' minor league system, he was traded to the Miami Marlins in November, 2012.

DeSclafani pitched in the minor leagues from 2012 through part of 2014. During that time, he had a 3.23 ERA, a 26-16 record, and 304 strikeouts to 79 walks in 354.1 innings in 73 games.
