Austin Hedges, catcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2011. He played in the Padres' minor league system from 2011 through 2014. During that time, he had 274 hits, 73 doubles, 24 stolen bases, 142 RBIs, and 209 strikeouts to 81 walks in 304 games. Defensively, as a catcher, he made 239 assists, 2,306 putouts, and 43 errors in 285 games. He caught players trying to steal 34 percent of the time.
